Ribal Al-Assad "How many more Christians have to die"
Sábado, 17 Agosto 2013
Amid fresh reports of Coptic Christian persecution in Egypt, Ribal Al-Assad, Chairman of the Iman Foundation, issues a fresh plea to the international community to act and put and end to the violence:
"Every day more videos, images and reports of violence against the Coptic Christian community come through, it is time for the international community to do something.
Since the rejection of the Muslim Brotherhood administration, supporters of the deposed regime have shown their true colours, exploiting the situation to wreak havoc against the Coptic community.
How many more Christians have to die, how many more churches have to be burnt, how many orphanages have to be ransacked before the international community acts.
We are seeing the start of an outright genocide, the attempted annihilation of a community because of their faith. Have we not learnt lessons from the past? Let us not see more bloodshed, let us not stand by whilst these acts are committed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Coptic community at this time."
