IMAN Chairman's 2014 Purim Message

Purim is one of the most vibrant and colourful holidays on the Jewish calendar. It commemorates a time when Jewish people living in Persia were saved from death.

It is customary to hold carnival-like celebrations on Purim, to perform plays and parodies, and to hold beauty contests.

Chairman of the IMAN Foundation, Ribal Al-Assad, said:

"May I wish everyone celebrating Purim this year a joyous celebration and peaceful holiday.

Purim is a story of hope, faith and deliverance, it looks to all that is positive and though we face challenges ahead Purim tells us that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel!

My thoughts are with the Jewish people on this happy day."
