Miércoles, 24 Noviembre 2010
The Chairman of Iman, Ribal Al-Assad, has welcomed the aims and activities of the 2010 UK Inter Faith Week.
These include:
♦ Strengthening good inter faith relations at all levels in our increasingly diverse society
♦ Encouraging local faith groups and communities to reach out to each other and build stronger bonds of understanding and co-operation
♦ Increasing awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the UK, with a particular focus on the contribution which their members make to their neighbourhoods and to wider society
Commenting on UK Inter Faith Week, Ribal Al-Assad said:
"Good relations between people of different faiths are essential for combating misunderstanding and prejudice and achieving social cohesion and harmony in any society. Since its launch last year, Inter Faith Week has successfully promoted the cause of inter-faith dialogue through mutual engagement across the UK. Working in partnership with the Inter Faith Network for the UK, this excellent grass-roots project has done tremendous work in communities, institutions, schools and colleges up and down the country. These are excellent aims and activities, and I fully support their work. I very much look forward to working more closely with the Inter Faith Network in the future."
