Chairman of the Iman Foundation, Ribal Al-Assad, attended the film Premiere 'Children of Light' hosted by PeaceJam, an international youth movement led by Nobel Prize winners.

Peace Jam is a charity which inspires young people to develop skills to become the next generation of peacemakers; it teaches people to choose non-violent solutions to problems and be active global citizens.

The film 'Children of Light' chronicles the life of H.G. Emeritus the Archbishop Desmond Tutu, focusing on his fight against apartheid in South Africa.

Speaking following the premiere, Ribal Al-Assad, Chairman of the IMAN Foundation, said:

"I was honoured to attend the premiere of 'Children of Light', a powerful and moving film about confronting prejudice and the process of reconciliation.

It was humbling to see how one mans struggle helped to change the course of history.

His Grace has long been an inspiration to all those who seek to challenge social inequality and discrimination; this film brought home the realities of the hurdles faced in his pursuit of justice.

Speaking to His Grace after the show I was delighted to be able to discuss the aims and objectives of the Iman Foundation with him; we talked about the importance of dialogue between people from different faith backgrounds in confronting prejudice - we also discussed the need to involve more young people in the process of cultural diplomacy so that they do not fall victim to extremist ideologies.

I implore all those who have yet to see this film to take a look; it truly is a superb portrait of mans ability to conquer hate and reconcile against the odds.

My thanks go to Claudia Abate, Chairman of 'PeaceJam', for organising such a superb and insightful event."
