Iman Chairman condemns radical preacher Yusuf al-Qaradawi

Martes, 30 Julio 2013 Hate Preacher Yusuf al-Qaradawi

Chairman of the Iman Chairman, Ribal Al-Assad, has again spoken out against hate Preacher and radical Cleric Yusaf al-Qaradawi denouncing his extremist rhetoric.

Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi, one of the most influential Islamic clerics in the world, head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood—has just posted a new video where he calls on all the Muslims of the world to come and wage jihad with their lives in Egypt on behalf of “what’s right”—that is, the return to power of the Muslim Brotherhood.

He called on everyone and anyone—the “sons of Al Azhar,” businessmen, journalists—and from all around the world, specifically mentioning Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Senegal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.

Qaradawi called on them to be shuhada, “martyrs” who sacrifice their lives in the course of the jihad. Qaradawi has also previously praised Hitler for the Holocaust and has also called for Sunni Muslims to murder Shi’ites, Jews, Christians and Alawites.

Denouncing al-Qaradawi, Ribal Al-Assad said:

“This individual says nothing about Islam which is a religion of peace. He only seeks to pervert it for his own benefit. As I have previously highlighted there is a Surah in the Quran which says:

‘He who kills an innocent soul is as if he had killed all humankind, and he who saves a life is as if he had saved the lives of all humankind’

Clerics should work to unite all Muslims together, guiding them along a path of peace – the biggest sin in Islam is dividing muslims "Fitnah" and to call on the killing of other people, Muslims and non Muslims.

Al-Qaradawi and others like him have no place in modern society and I am pleased that the Egyptian people have recently rejected this ideology and said no to extremism and sectarianism.

People all across the Middle East long for peace and true and genuine democracies; this is something that extremism will never provide.

I call on the international community to hold him and others like him to account – inciting violence against anyone is wrong, it is as simple as that.”
