This week, Ribal Al-Assad, the Chairman of the Iman Foundation met with Shi Changwu, the Head Monk of the Tanzhe Temple (literally "Temple of Pool and Zhe Tree"), which is a Buddhist temple in Beijing. The temple is built on a hillside and consists of various pavilions, prayer halls, courtyards and a group of pagodas dating from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It is one of the most important temples in the nation.

Commenting on the meeting, Ribal, said:

"I was honoured and delighted to visit the magnificent Tanzhe Temple and to meet with Shi Changwu, the Head Monk. We had an excellent discussion about the need for greater inter-religious dialogue to bring about mutual acceptance and harmony in the world today. Iman looks forward to greater engagement with the Temple and Buddhists around the world."
