Lebanon: IMAN delegation: Belgian MP calls on leader of Lebanon's Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt

Belgian Liberal party MP Denis Ducarme yesterday met with the leader of Lebanon's Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt in Beirut, as part of an IMAN delegation aimed at promoting international dialogue and strengthening international understanding. Mr Ducarme is vice-chairman of Belgium's Parliamentary Defence Committee. He discussed the political situation in Lebanon and the book that he is writing titled, "Islam against Islamism", with Walid Jumblatt.

Mr Ducarme said he was visiting Lebanon to see first hand the unique co-existence of people and a political system based on religious pluralism.

The delegation also included Sheikh Mohammad Al Hajj Hassan and Retired Lieutenant Colonel Tamer Awada.
